Mariner of the Seas

Just the other day, Andy was sitting at his computer, planning a road trip. He has been intending to take Terry to Montana and Oregon in June, a few weeks before they go to Europe on the 20th of July.

They planned to do a lot of driving, and sightseeing, some hiking, and a little camping, too.

Plans were changed pretty quickly after Andy received a phone call from friends, Nanette and Gary. They told Andy that there was a "sale" going on.

Andy looked into the matter and found that there was a very nice deal on a one week cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean ship, Mariner of the Seas.

Terry and Andy got a close up look at the Mariner when they were in Mazatlan, Mexico, in March.

You may remember that it was docked right in front of their Princess ship in Mazatlan.

They have been looking for a good reason to book a trip on the Mariner, because it is a very new, and very large ship. It can hold over 3,000 passengers.

It is supposed to be quite nice on board this ship.

Before the end of the day, Andy and Terry (as well as friends Nanette and Gary) are booked on a cruise aboard the Mariner! They will leave on Sunday, June 14.

That is the same day they intended to leave for the road trip to Montana, but Montana will have to wait.

Terry needed about two seconds to think it over.

She thinks that a cruise sounds better than a road trip.

An extra bonus is that the Mariner is NOT going to Mexico this time, as it normally does.

Because of the Mexican Swine Flu scare, no cruise ships are going to Mexico in June.

They are, instead, going up the Pacific Coast,

to San Francisco,

to Seattle,

and to Victoria B. C. - on Vancouver Island, in Canada.

Terry and Andy are very pleased to be cruising to these Pacific ports. This is an unusual itinerary for a cruise ship, and they're happy to take advantage of it.

Terry and Andy will have much more to report on their trip when they return on June 21.
