Return from Tucson

Terry and Andy have returned from their long drive to Tucson, Arizona and back.

In Tucson they were able to meet up with several of Terry's family members that she had not seen for a while.

It was great fun to spend time with everybody, and to enjoy the change of scenery that Arizona has to offer.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Air Show which was held at Davis - Montham Air Force Base in south Tucson.

There was quite a crowd of people there.

Terry's cousin, Bill came along with his grandson.

Another highlight was a return to the Saguaro National Park in north Tucson.
Andy and Terry always visit the giant saguaros here because it is such a peaceful place.

March in Arizona

Andy and Terry have not gotten out of town much since January. The weather has been a little bit too cool and a little bit too rainy to inspire them to take a trip out of town, but soon they will be driving to Arizona again.

Some of Terry's relatives from Texas, and from Kansas, are due to meet in Tucson, Arizona later this month. For that reason, Andy and Terry will be driving over to Tucson to have a little family reunion there, a good excuse to get out of town for a while.

Andy says he can hardly wait for Daylight Savings Time and for warmer weather so he can take some more road trips this spring.

They will be driving east to Arizona on March 18. Check back later in case they have some Arizona photos to share with you.

Anza Borrego

Rain is predicted for Saturday. It looks like a dreary sort of day here at home. Andy checks the computer to see if there will be rain in the desert. No rain is expected in the desert until tomorrow. Temperatures should be a little nicer than they are at home.

Terry and Andy decide to take a day trip to one of their favorite spots, Anza Borrego State Park in the desert, west of Salton Sea and northeast of San Diego. They need to get out of town, even if it's only for one day.

They drive east past Palm Springs and turn south at Indio and continue driving beside the Salton Sea. Eventually they arrive at Anza Borrego, one of the largest state parks in the country. They enjoy the change of scenery down here. The vegetation is pretty green because of the winter rains.

At the park visitor center they see a short movie about the park, they browse through the exhibits, and take a little walk.

Here are some photos of what they saw...

Later, they had a leisurely lunch in the town of Borrego Springs, and made their way home west , through the mountains to Temecula, where they took the freeway the rest of the way home.
